Wondrous THings by Elona

Christmas Painting on Wood
I found this sweet little decorative wooden plaque at a thrift store.... it has a really cool edge design and I just HAD to paint on it! I followed our Holly Jolly Theme and painted a snow scene with a snowman, a snow kitty and a snow bunny having a great time!  The Snowman, who is holding a small tree, is dancing with Kitty, who wears a colorful hat and holds a star.  Bunny is playing a jig on his concertina and the golden notes are floating upward as the snowflakes flutter to the ground. You can't see it on the photo, but the snow at the bottom has a touch of glitter, and Kitty's jingle bell collar has silver bells. I  accented the edge design by dry rubbing the grain of the wood with a light color. There is a sawtooth hanger on the back for hanging. The painting is signed and dated on the back by me.
